Making of Dal Soup #216
Making of „Martins“ Dal Soup, inspired by Birgit.
Ingredients for 4 persons
- 1 Pck, red lentils
- 1 can coconut milk
- two red onios
- garlic
- Mix of spices (self made)
- indic Curry
- Piment
- Curcuma
- Cardamom
- Coriander
- Sea salt
- Chilly
- Ginger
- 5 – 6 tomatoes
- a bunch of basil
- 500 ml self made broth *1)
*1) For the broth: put bones into cold (!) water, boil them and skim the foam. Put greens, salt, pepper, bayleaf and chilly into the water and boil all the stuff on low level for 3 -5 hours.
Cut onions, garlic and ginger into really small pieces.
Brown the onions into some butter. After 2 – 3 minutes, add the garlic and ginger, brown all for 3 minutes, then add the mix of spices for another 30 seconds.
Deglaze all with the broth, add the coconut milk and the lentils and boil all the stuff on low level for 30 Minutes.
In the meanwhile, cut the tomatoes and the basil and add this to the soup. Boil the stuff for another 10 Minutes.
Taste the soup with salt, pepper and perhaps some chilly … and it’s done 🙂
Bon appétit !
